Founded in 1997 by Ben and Pam Patterson, Agape House offers a home and school for boys ages 12-16, and girls ages 12-18 who come in hopes of overcoming cyclical abuse through educational, spiritual and emotional support. Agape House offers a 10-month program led by licensed educators, counselors, house parents and resident assistants to aid in the healing process. SMILES provides equine assisted activities and therapies such as therapeutic horseback riding as well as unmounted activities for children and adults with disabilities. Services are available to anyone four years and older regardless of the type of disability. SMILES is always in need of volunteers to help lead horses and sidewalk in classes. The minimum age to volunteer is 15. All training is provided, and no horse experience is required.
