Side by Side, Inc. provides short term financial assistance for rent, utilities, or prescription medication to residents in the Badger High School/Joint 1 Lake Geneva School District. Information on other community resources is also available. Applicants are screened on the third Tuesday of every month at the First Congregational UCC Church, 715 Wisconsin St, Lake Geneva, WI. A photo ID and proof of residency are required. Financial assistance can be provided only once in a 12 month period.

Walworth Children's Foundation is a non-profit designed to assist children and families in need that attend Walworth Jt. School District #1. The purpose of the Foundation is to acquire and distribute resources that support children and families in financial need. Resources are given to support items such as summer camps for children, extracurricular activities, clothing, food, school supplies, recreation programs, mental wellness for children, uninsured medication needs, etc.

Community Action was founded in 1965 as part of Lyndon Johnson’s “War on Poverty” initiatives. Their focus has always been to prevent and reduce poverty in local communities. The agency provides over 20 anti-poverty programs and services for individuals and families ranging from childcare to affordable housing, emergency shelter, weatherization, health care and education, and employment and training programs.

Open Tuesdays 9-5pm and Saturdays 9-12:00. Low cost clothing, bag sales ($3/grocery bag) at least twice a month and free clothing if unable to pay. Anyone is invited to shop, regardless of where they live.
The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army provides community assistance in the form of food, clothing, shelter, utility assistance and other emergency help in the Walworth County area. Additionally, The Salvation Army offers the following state-wide services: the Adult Rehabilitation Center; a 90 day program for the chronic substance abusive male; camping experiences for senior citizens at The Salvation Army’s, Army Lake Camp in East Troy; and state-wide disaster services.

The Time is Now to Help was founded in 1989 to address the pains and suffering of poverty. Since it was founded, Time is Now has helped nearly 24,000 fellow Americans. Their continuing goal is to ensure donations are utilized to provide goods and services such as food, clothing, utilities, toiletries, automobile assistance, and shelter assistance to extremely poverty-stricken children, senior citizens, disabled, veterans and families.
Twin Oaks Homeless Shelter

Twin Oaks is more than a shelter, though that is indeed one of its many functions. Residents receive emergency housing for up to 60 days, in one of the shelter’s 12 units. In addition to shelter, they receive professional and individualized case management, giving them the opportunity to alleviate an immediate crisis and focus their energy on finding or maintaining employment and stable housing.
